Five Athletic Adventures to Welcome Spring and Warm Weather

Welcome spring with an adventure that athletically challenges you and your friends or family. When the weather warms and there is a change in the air, celebrate by doing something that you have never done before! This can prove to be a life-changing, exhilarating experience that may set a whole new tone for summer.

Challenge yourself with these five cool ways to welcome warmer weather this spring:

  1. Rafting. A great way to say 'hello' to the warmer temperatures of spring is to go on a white-water rafting trip. Depending on the white-water rafting company that you choose, these may include camping or some sort of nature retreat, as well. Rafting is exhilarating and an excellent way to shake any post-winter blues.
  2. Parachute jump. If you ask around, many people will tell you that parachuting from an airplane is on their 'bucket list.' Arrange for a tandem-jump to welcome warm weather and provide yourself with a personal challenge. After a jump, participants claim to feel renewed and full of adrenaline- a life changing experience!
  3. Four- wheeling.  With spring comes rain and inevitably mud; make the most of the mud by heading out to do some four-wheeling. Rent ATVs and four-wheelers to slip, slide, and climb trails and groomed or ungroomed paths. Plan on getting dirty as the terrain can be extremely muddy and rough; be prepared for a rigorous physical workout.
  4. Bungee jumping. Another once-in-a-lifetime experience is to go bungee jumping. This is often found at some indoor athletic centers or during mild weather outside, and is an exhilarating way to welcome spring and feel like a new person! Plan on attending group jumps to learn the technique and see what you are getting into.
  5. A mud run. Get back out in the mud this spring by participating in a good, old-fashioned mud run! These are typically measured races that go through a number of challenging- and messy- obstacles and hurdles along the route. These foster a feeling of solidarity among those that complete the course, and many offer medals for participation.

Consider welcoming warmer weather by challenging yourself with one of these five activities that will give you a renewed sense of spirit and invigorate you for the season ahead.
